| Proof Silver Dollars started production in 1983 with the introduction of the Silver Proof Commemorative Discus Thrower (Los Angeles Olympiad). The US Mint has since produced at least one Silver Proof Commemorative Dollar each year, some years the US Mint has produced more than 1 design.
